Trump Calls Relatives of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House
President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the presidential home.
He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Information on the Devastating Event
Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.
White House Call
The president stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”
Community Response
Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist public safety in the capital.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“Sarah was the individual that educators desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, considerate and always eager to assist people.”
Memorial details for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Judicial Steps and Government Revisions
Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.
The event led the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to holders of Afghan passports.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
The airman, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the Associated Press.
He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.
The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she aimed to speak to the family.
Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” he addressed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
