Trio Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
