The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The influential game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
