Suspect in Ivy League Campus Shooting Located Deceased Inside Storage Unit.

The individual linked to the weekend's deadly violence at Brown University authorities state committed suicide on Thursday evening, per officials.

His body was discovered at a storage location on Thursday evening, according to information from an enforcement source. This suspect is also believed of killing a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor at a residence in the Boston area.

“He committed suicide tonight,” stated the chief of the Providence police department during a news briefing.

The chief identified the deceased man as Claudio Nevis Valenti, a 48-year-old individual enrolled at Brown University.

This news follows a major police operation at a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire earlier on Thursday. Witnesses reported seeing multiple armed officers entering the location.

The intensive search for the perpetrator had restarted on Monday after state prosecutors announced that a person of interest on Sunday had been released. This turn of events was acknowledged to be deeply concerning for the local community.

City leadership noted that while the letting go was a setback, the broader investigation continued without interruption.

The young victims who were killed in the attack have been named by family. They are Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama who was served as vice-president for a campus political group, and MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, an international student in his first year who dreamed of becoming a neurosurgeon.

Authorities are expected to hold a press conference to provide further details on the circumstances of the death.
