Recent Information Emerge Concerning the Location of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light about the shocking demises of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

According to a report citing a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes reports of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
