Netflix Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. The role can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a version of that role reimagined as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and anime.
Escola is joined by several other new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
