Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
