Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a announcement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
