Everyday tennis enthusiasts are being offered the chance to earn a seven-figure prize when they face tennis' top professionals - headed by top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz - in a single-point showdown leading up to January's Australian Open

Event planners of the year's first Grand Slam have revealed the $1 Million Single-Point Tournament, which will match 10 amateur players against top-ranked players in a elimination competition at the tournament grounds

Competitor Details

Any Australians - or international players who have registered with Tennis Australia - can participate in 'quick-match event' events at their neighborhood facilities

The victors of the local competitions will then go into a random pairing, with an everyday competitor from every geographic division picked to compete in the 'championship round' in a evening match on Wednesday, 14 January

There will also be a entry tournament in the final month which amateurs, developing professionals, celebrities and sport stars can enter

It commences on the starting date and the successful competitors will qualify for the midweek 'championship match' with the other eight amateurs and 10 professionals
